Authentic Doll Collection for Sale During Keeler Tavern's Antiques & Treasures Sale

A beautiful and extended collection of dolls owned by Mrs. Catherine Baker of Redding, Conn. will be for sale at the Antiques & Treasures Sale at the Keeler Tavern Museum (132 Main St. in in Ridgefield) on Aug. 9-11. Mrs. Baker has been collecting dolls for many decades. Her collections is filled with lovely dolls dating from 1860-1960.

Mrs. Baker has found great pleasure in searching for dolls of many eras to add to her collection. She said, "If I liked the doll and thought it would add historical charm to the collection as a whole, then I evaluated the quality, condition and cost. Usually I looked for a specific type. I would know the span of years that needed filling." With each purchase she learned something. Now she feels it is time that her dolls found new homes, and therefore she is selling them at her booth, during the Antiques & Treasures Sale. Included in the collection are antique dolls made by Effanbee, Horsman, Kestner, Knickerbocker, Mattel, Schoenhut, Vogue, and others.

Visit the Garden House at the Keeler Tavern Museum Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. or Sunday. Aug. 11 from 12 - 5 p.m. Select a lovely doll to add to your collection or start a collection of your own.

The Antiques & Treasures Sale is open 8 - 9 a.m. on Aug. 9 for Early Buying at $10 per person. Entry is free at all other times, as is parking on the property.
