Nutmeg Raffle to Benefit Disaster Relief Fund

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Ridgefield is donating all proceeds from the 2014 Nutmeg Festival raffle to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund in the United States. The fund provides disaster relief in the event of emergencies, such as Hurricane Sandy.

The 108th Nutmeg Festival, one of Connecticut's oldest church fairs, takes place July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the church's campus at 351 Main St. The raffle drawing takes place at 3 p.m. the day of the festival

First prize is lodging for one week at a four-bedroom vacation home, which sleeps eight, in Wilmington, VT, near Mt. Snow. Second prize is a Samsung 40-inch high-definition television set. Third prize is a Weber gas grill, completely assembled and donated by Ridgefield Hardware.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the festival, and one lucky person can win tickets by visiting the Nutmeg Festival Facebook page. "Visitors to the page are invited to share their favorite Nutmeg memory for a chance to win 5 raffle tickets," said Nutmeg co-chairman Nick Simard. "The winner will be based on the total number of Likes his or her memory earns."
