Interpreters Needed for AmeriCares Danbury Clinic

The Boehringer Ingelheim AmeriCares Free Clinic of Danbury is seeking interpreters fluent in both Spanish and English, or both Portuguese and English, to help doctors and patients better communicate. Volunteers are needed to work one four-hour shift per month on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, or one three-and-a-half-hour shift on Saturdays. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be able to effectively communicate medical terminology including treatment instructions from medical professionals.

The clinic serves low-income Fairfield County residents without health insurance. AmeriCares operates the largest free clinic network in the state with four locations serving 3,000 Fairfield County residents. The Boehringer Ingelheim AmeriCares Free Clinic is located at 76 West St.
