Help Troop 42 fill their trailer for Dorothy Day!

New Fairfield Boy Scout Troop 42 is collecting canned food and clothing items for Dorothy Day. The Troop 42 trailer will be outside the New Fairfield Stop and Shop on Sunday March 8th from 1pm-4pm to collect all donations. The troop is hoping that there will be enough donations to fill the trailer.

The Dorothy Day Hospitality House is located on Spring Street in Danbury. The organization is run entirely by volunteers which serve 80-120 hot meals each afternoon and provide shelter to 16 people each night. Meals are served year round so the need for food items is constant. The items needed include – canned vegetables, peanut butter, cookies, powdered drink mixes, ketchup, mustard, canned soup, gravy, and canned fruit. In addition, they are looking for twin size blankets (no wool), socks, hats, gloves and long underwear.

If you have items to donate drop off is easy. Just pull right up and a Boy Scout will help unload your car. If you plan on shopping on Sunday and can buy an extra can or two of food it would be appreciated. Please help Troop 42 fill their trailer to benefit Dorothy Day.
