Women’s Center to Offer Direct Service Volunteer Training

A 48-hour class certifies volunteers to perform domestic violence and sexual assault crisis intervention at the Women’s Center during business hours or from home when the Center is closed; prerequisite for court advocate, counselor advocate, group facilitator and other advanced volunteer positions.

Both day & evening certification classes begin May 30th, meeting through mid-June, in the 2nd floor Training Room, 8 West Street, Danbury, CT.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age; male and bilingual volunteers encouraged to apply. $50 per person materials fee to help defray cost (waivers available); background checks will be done.

Limited space; all prospective Volunteers must apply by May 18th.

The Women’s Center provides free and confidential services to prevent or lessen the trauma associated with domestic violence, sexual assault and other major life transitions to thousands of women, children and men annually.
