The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut has been awarded $12,500 by Fairfield County's Community Foundation to support its operations, allowing its services to the region, its artists, and arts enthusiasts to continue and grow. The Foundation's tagline, "Together We Thrive", is an appropriate complement to the Cultural Alliance's mission to market a highly recognized Connecticut arts region, to support communities that thrive on a strong arts presence, and to provide opportunities and resources to the creative artists that live in them.
The Cultural Alliance serves ten towns: Danbury, Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, and Sherman. Lisa Scails, Executive Director of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, says "The Cultural Alliance works hard to expand partnerships with business, increase access to and equity for the arts, and strengthen our key commitment to regional arts promotion. 'Together We Thrive' is a bugle call for our constituency, stakeholders, and those we serve."
The upcoming "Open MIc Night" on Friday, July 14th at 5:30pm at 287 Main Street, Danbury, is now free to the public thanks to the support of the Foundation. The event is tied to the Endworks Project, a collaborative effort between the Cultural Alliance and the Women's Center of Greater Danbury.
If you would like to perform or attend as an audience member for "Open Mic Night", please register. Go to http://bit.ly/endworksopenmic to join in this special evening, call (203) 798 0760, or email info@cawct.org "Together We Thrive."
