Pizzeria Lauretano rings out the old year with a new date, the Tony Purrone Trio on Sunday Dec. 29; and also announces their January schedule, featuring a return of trumpet master Marvin Stamm, and a debut of vocalist Maria Tischia's Brazilian project.
Virtuoso jazz guitarist Tony Purrone has been hailed for his "deeply personal and unique style" (David Sepulveda, New Haven Independent) and has played with an astonishing list: Billy Eckstine, Lionel Hampton, Count Basie Band, Gerry Mulligan, Heath Brothers, Lee Konitz, Grover Washington, Paquito D'Rivera, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and more. He and his trio return for an eclectic evening of jazz.
