America is back at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 5, at 8 p.m. with their timeless classic-rock favorites “A Horse With No Name,” “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man," “Lonely People,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “You Can Do Magic” and more. Special guest is Marshall Crenshaw, the American singer/songwriter best known for "Someday, Someway," a Top 40 hit in 1982. His music has roots in classic soul, British Invasion song craft and more, and Marshall is well known for his offbeat chord progressions (almost verging towards jazz) and concise solos. To make America’s concert even sweeter, Bailey's Backyard (23 Bailey Ave., Ridgefield) is offering 10% off lunch or dinner the day of this event when tickets are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d’oeuvre and priority parking is available for this show, which is part of the Xfinity Rock Series.
A fan reviewed a recent America concert: “Unbelievably great - vocals, band, everything. What I enjoyed most is the great friendship they have between them. It really shines through and makes the evening unforgettable.”
