APR. 20          ENTREPRENEURSHIP PANEL DISCUSSION: The Ancell School of Business will host “The Entrepreneurial Arc: A Panel Discussion with Successful Local Business Leaders” at 6 p.m. in Room 218 of the Westside Classroom Building on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Participants will include David Reunert, CEO of National Galactic; WCSU alumna Kelley Hopkins-Alvarez, a psychotherapist, Board Certified Career Coach and speaker; and Manny Carreras, a local entrepreneur, property owner and restaurateur. APR. 21          TUESDAYS AT NOON PERFORMANCE: The Dean of Students will host “Tuesdays at Noon,” an informal midday program at noon in the Student Center on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. APR. 21          CLIMATE CHANGE LECTURE (Earth Day event): Professor of Biological and Environmental Sciences Dr. Mitch Wagener will discuss “Climate Change: It’s Real, It’s Here, It’s Time To Act” at 7 p.m. in Room 125 of the Science Building on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. This Earth Day event will be free and open to the public.

APR. 21          CHAMBER SINGERS AND CONCERT CHOIR: The WCSU Chamber Singers, conducted by Kevin Jay Isaacs, and the Concert Choir, conducted by Cory Ganschow, will perform at 8 p.m. in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The program will focus on the theme of “Dusk to Dawn.” The Chamber Singers will perform Roger Petrich’s variations on the chorale, “Ah, Holy Jesus,” the first movement of Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42, and smaller works from Stephen Paulus, Ludwig Lenel and Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.” The Concert Choir will perform Paul Mealor’s “Ubi Caritas,” Handel’s “O Praise the Mighty Lord,” Jacob Narverud’s “STONE” and “Sure on This Shining Night” by Morten Lauridsen. The concert will be free and the public is invited. Donations to support the Department of Music will be accepted. APR. 22          RESEARCH SEMINAR: Central Connecticut State University Assistant Professor of Conservation Biology Dr. Paul Hapeman will discuss “Field and Laboratory Methods for Mustelid Conservation: Examples from American Marten, Mink and Fisher” at 4 p.m. in Room 219 of the Science Building on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Offered as part of the continuing “Research Seminar” series hosted by the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, the event will be free and the public is invited. APR. 22 –       GALLERY OPENING: The Gallery Opening Reception for the Senior Thesis

MAY 5            Exhibition will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Art Gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The exhibition will be on display from noon to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, through Tuesday, May 5. APR. 22          LECTURE AND BOOK SIGNING: WCSU Professor of Management Dr. Eugene Buccini will engage in conversation with Dr. John Patrick about the future of health care at 6 p.m. in Room 218 of the Classroom Building on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. As health care changes and evolves at a rapid pace, Internet industry pioneer Patrick will explain what lies ahead and what information technology advancements will mean for businesses, health care and society. Patrick will discuss his new book, “Health Attitude,” and will sell and sign copies after the talk. The public is invited. APR. 23 – 25  JAZZ FESTIVAL: The 20th Annual WCSU Jazz Festival will include three evening concerts in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall in the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. WCSU jazz faculty and select student groups will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Legendary jazz pianist Kenny Barron will be the guest performer with the WCSU Jazz Orchestra in concert on Friday, April 24. The climactic Jazz Fest concert on Saturday, April 25, will feature the Jimmy Heath Big Band, led by the acclaimed jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, bandleader and music educator Jimmy Heath.
