Scarlett Lewis, author of Nurturing Healing Love, will sign copies of her book at Barnes & Noble on Friday, May 8 at 7 pm. Ms. Lewis lost her son, Jesse, a first grade student, during the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Her book is a story about hope and healing.
Ms. Lewis and her son, JT, created the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation to encourage acts of compassion and kindness. JT is currently raising money to assist Rwandan survivors to attend college.
Their appearance at Barnes & Noble is part of Milford's One City, One Story's Kindness Campaign. The Literacy Center of Milford will sponsor a book fair on May 8. From 5 to 7 pm a variety of crafts--including masks and puppets--will be offered that tie into the interests of Jesse Lewis and the main characters in the One City books, "Wonder" and "The Invisible Boy." Come and create a duck puppet for Jesse, a pirate mask for Brian and a Star Wars themed craft for Auggie! We will also have Kindness jars and a Kindness tree that you could contribute to.
