Local Veterans to be recognized at Danbury World War II Ceremony on August 15th

The Danbury Council of Veterans' World War II 70th Anniversary & Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Rose Garden WWII Memorial on Memorial Drive in Danbury.  The ceremony is organized by the Catholic War Veterans Post 1042.  The CWV WWII Host Committee Members are Commander Richard Raymond, and members Al Mead and Tom Saadi.

During the ceremony the names of the 103 servicemen from Danbury who lost their lives during WWII will be read aloud.  Also honored will be the living WWII veterans of Greater Danbury with certificates and citations from the City and State.   In order to recognize the living WWII veterans at the ceremony WWII veterans who were either born in Danbury, or are member of a Danbury Veterans' Post or currently reside in Danbury or a Connectciut town boarding Danbury should contact Tom Saadi no later than August 5th at: tomsaadi@aol.com or 203-797-1797 and provide their name, branch of service, dates of service, home & email address & phone number.

"It is only fitting that on the 70th Anniversary of our victories over Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan that we memorialize those Danbury men who died in battle and honor those living WWII Veterans with us today, they truly are members of the Greatest Generation" said WWII Host Committee Member Tom Saadi.
