Join the Friends of the Bethel Public Library on October 15 at 6:00 pm for a special program, “Healthy, Healing Herbal Tea Making” with Michelle Marquez, certified Horticulture Therapist.
Explore plants that can be easily cultivated in your home garden for the use of tea-making. We will learn about their cultural requirements, along with the art of harvesting and preserving for use well into the winter and beyond. We will also discuss the medicinal qualities of various herbs, including stress-reduction, relief from cold symptoms and digestive issues.
Make your own tea bags from a selection of herbs and spices that are locally grown as well as some tropical additions. You will be considering desirable flavors as well as needed benefits from chosen natural ingredients. Homemade tea bags make thoughtful gifts, too! At the end of the program we will try one of our creations and enjoy the simple, yet ancient ritual of enjoying a cup of tea together.
Registration is required. All Bethel Public Library programs are open to the public and meet accessibility requirements for the disabled.
