Living Compassion The Dalai Lama's Life Story in Music, Words, and Pictures: A World Premiere Event Featuring Nawang Khechog and Tencho Gyatso on June 17, 2017 at 7:30pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
In this special world premiere event, Tencho Gyatso, niece of the Dalai Lama reveals the Dalai Lama's life in a stunning visual presentation woven together with her highly personal and heartfelt narration. Tencho's presentation is further brought to new heights by the accompanying and deeply moving music of
Nawang Khechog , the first Tibetan Grammy Nominee and the most renowned Tibetan flutist in the world. His original music, which he always aims as a means to inspire nonviolence and compassion, fits perfectly with the compassionately lived life of the Dalai Lama.
Tencho Gyatso further explains: "The program is specifically designed to celebrate Compassion as lived through the life of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama." It outlines the powerfully moving journey of the Dalai Lama's escape from Tibet as a young monk who then filled his role as a world leader and one of the most beloved men of our time. Nawang Khechog adds, "It is such an honor to accompany this moving portrait of His Holiness with my music. My goal is to heighten the experience of Tencho's presentation."
