Connecticut Premiere of Man In Red Bandana at Palace Danbury on September 8

On Friday September 8, The Palace Danbury will host a very special screening and the Connecticut Premiere of MAN IN RED BANDANA.

Man In Red Bandana is a documentary film about an true American hero ... Welles Remy Crowther, a 24-year-old equities trader from Nyack, NY who spent some of the darkest hours in American history saving the lives of strangers.

Welles may have looked the part of an investment banker, but there was one unorthodox piece to his personal dress code. Tucked in the back pocket of every pair of pants was a red bandana his father had given him when he was a boy.

President Obama told Welles' story at the dedication of the 9/11 Museum, "They didn't know his name. They didn't know where he came from. But they knew their lives had been saved by the man in the red bandana."

Amidst the smoke and chaos, the people huddled in the darkness on the 78th floor of south tower heard a voice leading them to the stairs and to safety. Their guide was a young man holding a red bandana over his face. He made three round trips up and down the stairs, carrying and leading survivors to safety.

Tragically, he died that day. His heroics became known eight months later as a result of his red bandana. The film re-traces Welles' courageous actions, and examines the people-- family, friends and strangers-- who have been inspired by Welles' actions and the unique ways in which they have honored him.

Please come and honor Welles' memory and meet his parents who will be attending the Palace Danbury screening.
