An Acoustic Evening With Al Stewart at The Palace Danbury on Friday

Multi-platinum recording artist AL STEWART will perform up close and acoustic at The Palace Danbury on Friday, September 22, starting at 8 p.m.

A master singer-songwriter, Stewart came to musical prominence with back to back platinum albums, “Year Of the Cat” in 1976 and 1978’s “Time Passages.”

A self professed history buff, his music often combines folk-rock music with delicately woven tales of the great characters and events of history.

The Scottish singer-songwriter, who grew up in England, left school at 16 to play guitar. By the time he was 22, Al Stewart had met the Beatles and played John Lennon's guitar, opened for the Rolling Stones, shared an apartment with a young Paul Simon, recorded with Jimmy Page, and put a young Cat Stevens on stage where he was master of ceremonies.

Stewart has released sixteen studio and three live albums since 1967. He continues to tour extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK. In  April, he received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

This will be Al Stewart's first appearance at The Palace Danbury. Ticket prices range from $35 to $49. They may be ordered by phone at 203 794-9944, at the box office starting at 7:00 PM day of show, or online at https://tickets.thepalacedanbury.com

The Palace Danbury is located at 165 Main Street, in Danbury, Connecticut. Free parking is readily available for theatre patrons in the parking lot behind the building. For more information about this and all upcoming shows visit www.thepalacedanbury.com.
