A Blessing of Pets will take place at the gazebo on the Bethel Municipal Center lawn at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4. St. Thomas' Episcopal Church is providing the blessing.
Many churches bless animals on October 4 as part of their commemoration of Catholic friar Francis of Assisi (died 1226). Stories about Francis demonstrate his love for animals and the environment.
