Pets from Santa? Animal Fair Pet Shop weighs in.
Here's our take on pets for Christmas: There is nothing more magical than when Santa brings a wished-for pet to your child. Whether it's a bunny, a guinea pig, a parakeet or even a lizard, it's truly a long-lived much loved gift.
Having said that, bringing the new pet into a crazy holiday situation is often not the best introduction to the family for the new pet.
Animal Fair recommends:
- "Placeholder pets" -- stuffed animals that can stand in for the live version until after the big day.
- Christmas Eve Santa pickup. We encourage you to select your pet and purchase your cage and supplies in advance so that you can choose the best animal for your family.
Sales for Santa pickup will start on November 28 -- the day after Thanksgiving.
