Meet & Greet at TBICO - The Bridge to Independence & Career Opportunities

Since 1993, TBICO, The Bridge to Independence & Career Opportunities, has helped disadvantaged adults build their own bridge to future success to move towards better jobs and greater career opportunities, more stable housing and more competent money management capabilities.  Simply put, they come to TBICO for better skills. Better jobs. Better lives.

LouAnn Bloomer, TBICO's founder, President & CEO, began TBICO as a program to help welfare-to-work women. While services are gender neutral, the participants continue to be predominantly female, most being head of household. The curriculum blends basic job and life skills with computer and workforce training via a mix of instructor-led classes and workshops.  Many of the business skills workshops are facilitated by local corporate executive volunteers, who donate their time and talent to ensure that the employment skills taught are in-demand and meet industry standards. Its Employer Advisory Council is comprised of HR professionals, managers, outplacement specialists and corporate trainers who help guide TBICO’s employment related programs. [Attachment 'Jodi Godini rings the "New Job" bell at TBICO']

In addition to providing support through its Alumni Job Search Teams and newly established Career Resource Center, TBICO even helps participants to be stylish and interview-ready through its on-site Corporate Closet. "It's the whole package," said Bloomer. "Confidence is so important to success. TBICO instills that in our students."

On Tueday, March 10th, from 5 to 7pm, the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend a Meet & Greet at TBICO, located at 22 Eagle Road in Danbury, to learn more about this amazing organization and how they help people improve their skills, expand their employment options, and enhance their future.  In addition to LouAnn, attendees will hear about the impact TBICO has made on their lives from some of its volunteers and program graduates.
