A Message from the Bethel Schools

Dear Parents, Care Givers, and Community Members:

I wanted to personally thank all parents who attended the Public Hearing last Monday evening. We thank you for your comments supporting the quality of educational programs of the Bethel Public Schools. The next step in the budget process is the Town Meeting. The purpose of the town meeting is to approve a budget and set the date for the referendum (or vote) of the budget. By Town Charter, at that meeting Bethel residents can only reduce the amount recommended by the Board of Finance, not increase it. Residents who are registered voters can vote to support or reject any motions made at the meeting. Once a budget is approved the date for the referendum will be set. The Town Meeting is scheduled for April 6th at 7:30 PM at Bethel High School Auditorium. We will be providing babysitting for parents. This is an important meeting for parents to attend.

The Barnum Ball was another huge success. A special thank you to all of the Directors for the countless hours they put into the event, all to benefit the children of Bethel. We would also like to thank Mr. Troetti for the phenomenal job he did as our live auctioneer. A good time was had by all.
