Bethel Residents May Receive Vehicle Tax Bills Late Due to DMV Mishaps Earlier this Year

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL BETHEL TAXPAYERS

The annual vehicle tax bills were mailed last week; all car owners should receive them no later than today's mail (Monday, June 27th).
Due to the well-publicized trouble earlier this year with new state DMV software, some vehicle records are missing, have the wrong addresses or have been incorrectly re-assigned to the wrong town.Consequently, you may not receive a tax bill from the Town of Bethel.

Please be advised, however, that under state law, all taxpayers are required to be aware of due dates and pay taxes, even if a bill is not mailed. If you are expecting a vehicle tax bill and have not received it by Tuesday, June 28th, please call the Assessor's office at 203-794-8507 for information concerning how to correct the address record.
