Bethel Middle School students interview grandson of Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt

In this week's newsletter from Bethel Superintendent of Schools, Christine Carver shared some very interesting information uncovered by Bethel middle school students who are working of their National History Project.

Did you know Eleanor Roosevelt was the graduation speaker for Bethel High School's graduating class of 1954?

According to Carver, a group of students from Bethel Middle School, working on their National History Project, interviewed James Roosevelt Jr., the grandson of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. During the interview students asked questions about the family legacy and how it is embraced today.

The students learned that Eleanor Roosevelt spoke to the 52 graduates about the need to live for peace in the world by participation and involvement.

"We look forward to hearing more about the projects when completed," said Carver.
