WCSU Student's to Perform Honoring Marian Anderson

Danbury, CT – Join us as we gather in The Marian Anderson Studio on Saturday, February 28, 2015 to celebrate the birthday of world renowned contralto and longtime Danbury resident, Marian Anderson.

In recognition of Marian Anderson’s achievements, her birthday and Black History Month, the museum is thrilled to be hosting this event from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to share Marian Anderson’s life and accomplishments as well as to spotlight our new exhibit.

At 2:00 p.m., the museum welcomes WCSU music students who will perform several songs made popular by Marian Anderson throughout her career.

These events are free and open to the public.

Free tours will also be given of the other historic buildings on our Main Street campus that day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as part of this celebration.
