St. Mary Students Headed to CT State Science Fair

St. Mary School is pleased to announce that the following students will be representing the school at the CT Science and Engineering Fair next week at Quinnipiac College:

Grade 7: Valerie Quish, Madeline Suarez and Kevin Legnard

Grade 8: David Smeriglio, Mackenzy Garden, Emily Marcone, Angela Saidman, Rory Daly, Jake Drury and Maya Guyton.

St. Mary School annually hosts a school-wide Science Fair.  Every student in Grades 1-8 is required to participate.  Students conduct an experiment of their choosing, prepare journals and boards with accompanying data and results, and present their findings to their classmates, and then to the larger community at the fair.  An independent judge helps select the top projects that then go on to the CT State Fair.  This year's State Fair at Quinnipiac begins March 10th.
St. Mary School opened a state-of-the-art science lab in September, thanks to generous donations from Dr. Tom and Linda MacGregor, the Bethel Education Foundation, the Raskob Foundation, and the St. Mary community. The new lab has helped transform science education at the school and has provided a hands-on learning environment for the entire student body.
