Santa arrives in Downtown Danbury with lighted firetruck parade Dec 5th

December 6th is St. Nicholas Day, but in Downtown Danbury, Santa Claus will arrive a day early at Library Plaza on the Eve of St. Nicholas, Saturday, December 5th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. There, folks of every age will meet and greet family, friends, and the jolly old man himself.

For the first time this year, Santa will be accompanied by a lighted fire truck parade, winding its way from Deer Hill Avenue to West Street, then on Main Street to Rogers Park. "We look forward to gathering with the citizens of Greater Danbury on Main Street at CityCenter Danbury's Light the Lights celebration to help ring in the holiday season," says LT. Chris DiMauro of Phoenix Hose Company #8. Santa will arrive at the end of the parade courtesy of the Beckerle Hose Company #9.

The free event will include cookies, carolers, performances by the St. Peter''s Church Children's Chorus and St. Joseph's Church Children's Chorus, and Mayor Mark Boughton will light up Downtown with a spectacular new show of holiday lighting.

Children may visit Santa at Library Plaza. Bring your own cameras for photos.
