Newtown Choral Society Invites Prospective New Members to Attend First Rehearsal

The Newtown Choral Society, under the direction of Mary Andreotta, begins rehearsals for its spring concert Wednesday, February 17 and is inviting prospective members to attend.  The program will be music influenced by Greek mythology and culture and will include Mozart’s Voyager’s Chorus and Purcell’s Dido’s Lament from the 17th and 18th century as well as music from the 20th century films “Hercules” and “Troy” as well as jazz. Now celebrating  its 30th year, the Newtown Choral Society is a community chorus and welcomes members from all area towns. The choir performs two concerts a year and welcomes both novice and experienced singers.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays at The Newtown Middle School and begin February 17.
