Bethel Couple launch a Kickstarter campaign to say it with Chocolates
Noteworthy chocolates on its way to a delicious future
Local entrepreneurs Michael and Jennifer Sauvageau have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their new business, Noteworthy Chocolates, candy with a message, your message. “Our deadline is May 15th and so far we have raised more than half of our needed total ($27,000) to become full time chocolatiers,” says Michael.
Noteworthy Chocolates uses lasers to engrave messages, logos and images on chocolate stationary. "We use Fair trade certified chocolate with cocoa sustainably sourced from Ecuador which has no peanuts, soy, gluten or genetically modified organisms," says Jennifer. "The engravings are done with a food certified laser machine that is used only for chocolate…. notes are engraved on three varieties: dark, milk and white,” she adds.
Married for 13 years, the Sauvageau’s began their life together traveling around the country entertaining at medieval fairs and festivals. "I am a lifelong juggler and toy inventor and Jennifer is the entrepreneur in the family…we are both lovers of playful things and most of all chocolate,” says Michael.
After months of research, they were able to test their ideas on a laser at Danbury’s Hackerspace, which served as the incubator for the idea. “Everyone loves the concept of chocolate messages so now its time turn it into a full fledged business… that’s where Kickstarter comes in." Says Michael. “Kick starter is a unique crowdfunder because contributors are rewarded for their contributions and unlike many programs, if the total is not reached, money is refunded,” he adds.
