Michael "Mick" O'Sullivan, 76, of Bethel, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Pauline and the proud father of his six children.
Michael was born in Castletownbere, Ireland on July 20th, 1940, the son of the late John and Lena O'Sullivan. He grew up in Ireland and moved to England at the age of 17 where he met his future wife Pauline. They were married on St. Patrick's Day in 1964 and moved to the United States in 1965. They initially lived in Stratford before eventually settling in Bethel in 1968 where they raised their family.
Michael and his twin brother Leo were self-taught master builders and were long time fixtures working construction in the Danbury area. They eventually started L&M Construction and made their careers owning several rental properties.
Michael spent countless hours helping his children with their houses and found great joy in the simple pleasures in life. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and an optimistic outlook on life. He was a caring, gentle, patient, and quite man who was loved by everyone fortunate enough to meet him. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as an incredibly hard worker who was always the first to help anyone in need of assistance.
The family will receive guests at Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel on Tuesday, July 26th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
