Longtime resident, Edith (Noe) Miller passes away at 97

EDITH (NOE) MILLER

Edith (Noe) Miller, 97, of Bethel, wife of the late Reuben Miller passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, September 23, 2016.

Mrs. Miller was born in Danbury on January 13, 1919, a daughter of Abraham and Bessie (Liefenfeld) Noe. She attended local schools and graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Miller was affiliated with Mt. Sinai Hospital of New York, Danbury Hospital and the Margaret Sanger Institute (the predecessor of Planned Parenthood) where she assisted in research.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Miller was a member of ORT (a Jewish Organization meeting Educational needs), Hadassah and the United Jewish Center of Danbury.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed people and always had the time to listen to their life’s stories.

A kind, caring and concerned human being, she will be sorely missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds to which she so quietly and gently touched.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Marc A. Miller and his wife Jane of Danbury and Michael Miller, MD and his wife Ellyn of Fairlawn, NJ; a daughter, Mirele Kodsi and her husband Ralph of Great Neck, L.I., NY; a brother, Harold Noe of Bethel; a sister, Dorothy Heyman of West Hartford, CT; seven grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Miller, Matthew, Evan and Alana Miller and Isaac and Jonathan Kodsi and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Miller was predeceased by a brother, Henry Noe.

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the United Jewish Center, 141 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury with Rabbi Stefan Tiwy and Cantor Penny Kessler officiating.

Interment will follow in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Brookfield.
