Bethel Public Schools recognizes World Diabetes Day by wearing blue

Bethel School students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear BLUE on Tuesday, November 14th to celebrate World Diabetes Day.

In her latest newsletter, Bethel Superintendent of Schools, Christine Carver, put a spotlight on a disease that affects 350 million people in the U.S. - diabetes. 

Did you know?

*350 million people in the world have diabetes.

*Approximately 80 people per day are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).

*Celebrities affected by diabetes: Halle Berry, Jay Cutler, Nick Jonas, Ray Allen, Bret Michaels and more.

Helpful Hints for a Healthy Lifestyle:

*Start your day with a healthy breakfast!

*Get exercise DAILY!

*Eat healthy and watch your sugar intake!

*Be aware of how your friends are acting: sluggish, tired, etc. and always stick with a buddy!

*Regular wellness visits to your doctor are a must!
