Emmanuel Church to Hold 107th Annual Country Fair

Emmanuel Church will hold its annual Country Fair on Saturday, September 21. Now in its 107th running, and one of the oldest fairs in Connecticut, the Fair will feature a captivating array of items for sale and engaging activities for people of all ages, as well as delicious foods and delightful music throughout the day.

The Country Fair will run from 10 AM to 4 PM and will be held on the grounds of the Church at 285 Lyons Plains Road, Weston. The Fair will go on regardless of the weather. Admission is free for all.

"For over a century, the Emmanuel Church Fair has united people from Weston and the surrounding towns in a lighthearted celebration supporting charity and community", said Father Robert Ross, the Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. "We plan to dedicate a portion of the Fair proceeds to local organizations."

Children of all ages will be entertained at the Fair by games, a cake walk and dance contest, a bouncy house, and Emmanuel's annual "The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in Connecticut Contest." Food offerings will include a coffee house, country kitchen and snack bar.

Musical offerings at the Fair will include Greater Bridgeport Symphony musicians Leslie Frankel and Kathie Sumrow playing music for two flutes at 11AM and Chris Coogan and his musical group playing from 1-4PM. Chris Coogan is a multi-talented entertainer who is rooted in jazz and gospel traditions.

In a change from past years, attendees at this year's Fair will have the opportunity to purchase fine furniture, fine art and women's designer clothing. As in the past, the Fair will offer a Silent Auction of gift baskets, wine, professional services, tickets to sporting and cultural events, and dinners at local restaurants, as well as a book sale for children, teens and adults, children's toys, and a wide variety of fine and costume jewelry.

Please contact the church office if you have questions at (203) 227-8565.
