Connecticut Forest & Park Association Spring Trail Workshop is May 3rd in Redding

The Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) Spring Trail Workshop is taking place right in our backyard this year! They're undertaking a major (and exciting) project: connecting the Saugatuck and Aspetuck trails. A project like this relies on the energy of volunteers, so please sign up and help create something everyone can enjoy.

More info from the CFPA:

Join us for our annual Spring Trail Workshop. We will be working in Easton/ Redding to connect the Aspetuck and Saugatuck Trails in the Centennial Watershed State Forest.

Come learn new trail skills, make new friends and help us connect two Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails! Projects will include new trail construction, trail clearing, blazing and footbridge construction. Handtools provided but please bring workgloves, water, snacks, lunch and wear clothes and shoes appropriate for weather and work. No pets or small children please. Volunteers should be prepared for moderate to challenging physical work and hiking into project sites.

Meet at roadside parking pull-off on Black Rock Turnpike across from the Aspetuck Valley Apple Barn. Parking may be limited so carpooling is recommended. Plan to join us for a post-event barbecue as well.

KINDLY sign-up below if you plan to attend so we can get an accurate head count. Questions, contact Clare at ccain@ctwoodlands.org

This project is a partnership effort between Aquarion, The Nature Conservancy, the State DEEP and CFPA.
