International Students in Need of Homes

In early August, twelve new Chinese students will become members of the Wooster community, bringing with them an invaluable diversity of thought, culture, and perspective that will enrich our school and our ability to prepare all of our students for an increasingly interconnected global society.

These students chose Wooster from among a host of potential schools because they were attracted by the personal and meaningful educational experience that we offer, and because of the uniquely tight-knit community that supports our school. These students also chose Wooster because they do not want to attend a boarding school, but rather want an experience that includes living with an American host family.

This is where we would like to ask you for help. In partnership with Green Planet, the company that manages the homestays, we are still seeking dedicated host families who would like to open their home and welcome one of our incoming students. In addition to taking part in a life-changing experience and having the opportunity to guide a young international student, host families receive a monthly stipend of $1,000 and will be trained and supported by our homestay partner, gphomestay.

If you are interested in welcoming one of these students, or know of any other qualified families who might be interested, we encourage you to fill out a hosting application or reach out to GPHomestay for information, either via email (info@gphomestay.com) or phone (781-996-0429).
