Bethel's Memorial Day Parade

The Bethel’s annual Memorial Day parade will take place on Sunday May 17th beginning at 2:00 pm.  This parade is one of the oldest in the area, having been in existence for approximately 65 years. Traditionally it is held the week before the actual Memorial holiday celebration.

If your organization is interested in participating please feel free to contact Skip Clapp at (203) 744-6870 or via e-mail at cclapp@snet.net

We start to form up at 1:00 pm on that Sunday at the intersections of Rte.’s 53 and 302, commonly known as Grassy Plain St. and Greenwood Ave. We ask all unit’s that are planning to march to be there no later than 1:30 pm. We have parade marshals who will assist all marching units find their place in the line of march. We traditionally have 3 divisions. The 1st division is made up of the veterans Color Guards and marching units from the various area veteran’s organizations. The 2nd division is for all other units that wish to participate. The 3rd division is reserved for the various Fire Departments that march with us. We have a number of bands that are spread throughout the line of march so that everyone may enjoy the music as well as march to it.  We only ask that you keep your theme directed to Memorial Day and to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice,   to those serving today,  and to our veterans who have served.   There is no throwing or passing out of candy,  literature,  etc. while marching in the parade

If you have never been involved or marched in a parade here is our chance to participate and have a have a great afternoon. We are well attended by enthusiastic residents from many area towns who enjoy coming out to help make our annual parade the success that it has been over the years.

The Bethel Patriotic Association looks forward to having you and your organization participate.
