AFNWCT Adds Two New French Classes

Fall is the perfect time to re-commit to your French language learning goals and resolutions with the one of the Alliance Française of Northwestern CT's many French Language classes.  Two NEW CLASSES have been added to their 2015-2016 fall lineup:

French Cinema & Conversation Class is designed for intermediate to advanced level French speakers who wish to increase their vocabulary, learn about French directors and their cinematic techniques and delve into the historical and cultural context of women’s lives as featured in five contemporary movies :  Inch'Allah dimanche, La veuve de Saint Pierre, Madame Bovary, 8 Femmes, L’esquive. Starting September 3, the class will meet* on THURSDAYS 9:15 – 10:15 am followed by the projection of the five movies on each third week: (9/17, 10/8, 10/29, 11/19, 12/17). The cost is $270 for the 15-week class.

Another NEW CLASS this Fall is a Parent/Child French Class where together the parent(s) and child(ren) will learn French songs, games and phrases.  Parents do not need to know French to take this class. This will take place on SATURDAYS: 9:30 – 10:30 AM starting 9/19 through 12/12, with no class 10/17, 10/31 and 11/28. The cost is $200 per child/parent for the 10-week session.

Learning a foreign language encourages cognitive development and creativity, increases memory and improves reading and problem solving skills. Studies show the earlier children start a language, the better it is. This is a perfect birthday gift idea for your son/daughter or grand-son/daughter!

In addition to these two classes, there are two classes for pre-school and elementary children "Bonjour Madame!" and "Petit à Petit" and French 1 and French 2 daytime classes for homeschooled teens. Adult classes offered are French 1-3 levels, two Fluency/Advanced classes and a French for Travelers classes for those wishing to learn French before traveling to a French-speaking country next Spring or Summer.

The Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the French language and the many cultures of French-speaking countries. In addition to French language classes, our programs include educational lectures, films, conversation groups, book discussion groups, organized visits to French cultural exhibits and holiday celebrations. For further information on upcoming programs, go to our website: http://www.afnwct.org, where you'll also find details about the other French Classes in addition to private tutoring, which is always a great way to take your French to another level.
