Local Authors to Visit Indie Bookstores for Small Business Saturday

For Small Business Saturday and the Indies First initiative, local authors (including yours truly!) will be visiting independent bookshops in Connecticut.

The idea to bring authors and readers together in support of their favorite indies was initially suggested by Sherman Alexie, author of “The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian,” among others. In 2013, he urged fellow authors to give their time to the shops that support them. This year, the official spokesperson is "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" author Cheryl Strayed. Read her appeal to authors and illustrators here
