CT State Police Launch Move Over Law Awareness Campaign

The Connecticut State Police are conducting a Move Over Law campaign to bring awareness, act as a reminder, and highlight the importance of moving over for emergency vehicles, highway maintenance crews, and tow trucks.

On February 22, 2016 we initiated the Move Over Law awareness campaign by posting information, pictures, and videos to social media about the Move Over Law, and its importance.  Information included the five Connecticut State Troopers and two Auxiliary State Troopers who were killed in the line of duty while stopped on the side of the highway assisting motorists.

On February 29, 2016, Connecticut State Troopers began the week long enforcement period focusing on those who violate the Move Over Law.  The focused enforcement will run from February 29 – March 4, 2016. 

The goal of the Connecticut State Police is to gain the public’s awareness and compliance of the Move Over Law, and to issue zero tickets, lives are more important.  Fines start at $181.00.
