Bethel Student Escapes Attempted Abduction

On September 1 at 3:30 pm, Bethel Police responded to a report of an attempted child abduction.

At approximately 3:15pm, a 7th grade juvenile that was walking home from the bus along Woodlawn Drive was approached by the operator of a black (possibly four door) sedan. The operator of this vehicle asked the juvenile if they needed a ride home and after the juvenile declined, the operator demanded for her to get into the car.

The juvenile fled from the operator and was able to get away. The description provided is of an approximately 40 year old white male with a deep voice, muscular build, black harir that was slicked back, and a clean shaven face.

The vehicle's description is similar to a Ford Crown Victoria, black in color and possibly displaying Connecticut registration.
