Goshen Business Owner named Rotary District Governor
Nick Constantino, now of Montgomery, has assumed the volunteer post of Rotary International District Governor for 2015-16. As Governor, Constantino coordinates the local and international service projects of the sixty (60) Rotary Clubs and over 1600 Rotarians, in the Hudson Valley area. He assumed office July 1, 2015 and will serve through June 30, 2016. Constantino is one of only 532 Rotarians worldwide serving as a District Governor this year. A member of the Rotary club of Wallkill East for twelve years, Constantino will also be responsible for organizing new Rotary clubs and strengthening existing ones.
During an installation ceremony at Southbury, Connecticut, he said his main goals for the coming year are to increase awareness of Rotary and to increase the good we do in our communities – both locally and globally. "As local leaders and volunteers, Rotarians can help find community solutions to local and international needs," he said. “One of the major initiatives for the year will be to raise $82,000.00 for an addition to a school, dedicated in memory of a Past District Governor, Jeffrey Keahon, in Vietnam.” (Visit www.schoolstoendpoverty.org for additional information.)
Area Rotary clubs are involved in many local and international service activities. The Rotary Club of Liberty, for example, is spearheading a clean water initiative in Haiti, while the Rotary Club of Warwick ensures that local children have nutritious lunches when they are not in school (“Back Pack Snack Attack”).
