Dance Dads Dancing for Charity

The dance dads from Seven Star School of Performing Arts in Brewster NY are dancing at Kids For Kids (KFK) dance competition in North Haven CT this weekend. The purpose of KFK is kids dancing in support of other kids. All proceeds and donations made at KFK are donated to various children's charities.

The dads dance is just another way to help out these amazing causes. This will be the fifth year that the dads from Seven Star will be competing in the competition. Leading up to the day they compete, the dads will raise money for the charity of their choice and if they win against the other dad groups they will be given even more donations from KFK towards their charity.

This year our dads have chosen to chosen to support Camp Rising Sun out of Connecticut. Camp Rising Sun is a summer camp for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Their mission statement is "Camp Rising Sun exists to provide a safe, nurturing environment for kids who have faced the diagnosis of cancer so that they may grow and learn from their experiences to become the best they can be." This camp allows children, ages 5-17, who are suffering cancer a safe place where they can act like kids again and enjoy the parts of summer that they may not have enjoyed before. They have a pediatric oncologist as well as multiple nurses on site allowing the kids to continue their chemotherapy and medical treatments while at camp. The dads are very excited to be raising money for this amazing organization and are hard at work learning and perfecting their dance. Any donation that you can give will be a tremendous help to these children. For more information regarding Camp Rising Sun please visit  http://www.camprisingsun.com
