Relay for Life of Brewster 2018 Announces Community Interest Meeting

Relay For Life of Brewster is hosting an Interest Meeting on Wednesday, September 27th, 7:00pm at the Henry H. Wells Middle School Auditorium.  All community members are invited to attend.  The interest meeting will present opportunities about Relay for Life involvement.  You can learn more about how to volunteer, participate, sponsor or be celebrated as a cancer survivor or caregiver.

Relay For Life is an outdoor, volunteer-driven, fundraising event where teams from a community are formed and walk to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, education and resources.  Our first Relay in Brewster was in June 2017 at the Brewster High School track and field. We had an incredibly successful inaugural year, raising over $80,000, registering 26 teams and 300 participants, and seeing over 500 community members that day. We celebrated over 40 local cancer survivors with the support of local business sponsors, and community volunteers.  “Cancer survivors, caregivers, and all those affected by cancer in the Brewster community had a place to find support and fight back; it was an amazing movement to be a part of and I am looking forward to next year’s event.” said Rose Aglieco of Team Acrish.

The Relay for Life of Brewster volunteer leadership team is gearing up for the June 2018 event.  We need your help now to plan. If you would like to find out more, please  attend the Relay for Life Interest Meeting on September 27th at 7pm.

If you cannot make it to the meeting but would like to learn more about the event and opportunities for involvement, you can the American Cancer Society staff partner, Katie DiVenuto at katie.divenuto@cancer.org  or (914) 397-8865.

Relay For Life is a great opportunity to come together with our community in taking up the fight against cancer.
