Free Science Workshop for Students in Middle and High School

Explore Science at the Studio including DNA Extraction Experiment

Wondering what it would be like to be a scientist? Join Science at the Studio! Two separate sessions will be held for middle school and high school students. The FREE Science workshop will take place on Saturday, March 4^th from 2:30-4:00PM for middle school students and 4:15–5:45PM for high school students.  The topic will be DNA & Synthetic Biology. Attendees can expect to: learn about genetics, biology, synthetic biology; engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations including a model of an experiment; extract DNA from wheat germ seed or strawberries and participate in ethics forums. The workshop will conclude with a Q&A for attendees and parents regarding college, researching, and how to be a "scientist".
