Health Quest will continue its interactive series, Dinner with the Doc, this April and May, offering five educational talks throughout the mid-Hudson Valley. Several healthcare providers from across the system will speak on breast health, spine care, weight-loss surgery, nutrition and pancreas and liver treatments.
The series features a complimentary dinner served at restaurants in Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties. Reservations are required two weeks in advance of the event due to limited seating.
First up — Dr. Ryan Swan will present “All Biled Up: Digesting Facts and Myths About the Pancreas and Liver” from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Bluestone Bistro, 10 IBM Road, Poughkeepsie. Swan, a hepatobiliary surgeon with Health Quest Medical Practice on the medical staff at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, will provide an introduction to the pancreas and liver, discuss misperceptions about these organs, as well as advancements in treatment that have occurred over the past decade.
