Community Music Series Kicks off with FREE Event in Croton Falls!

A Haunted Halloween Happening

Somers residents, Adam Bernier & Jacque Roche are joining forces to co-produce a 4-hour Community Music Event introducing the community to a variety of talented musicians & genres of music on October 27,2017.  The first of the series is presented by The Schoolhouse Theater & Arts Center and will commence with 3 individual acoustic performances in the venue’s stunning art gallery.  Attendees are encouraged to attend one or all of the individual musical experiences that appeal to them.  Doors 7:00 pm.

7:30 - 9:00 pm: Art Gallery Appetizer Hour - Sponsored by Soup Ninja, Lonnie Lum, North Salem.  A light serving of appetizers & sandwiches will be offered to attendees as they mingle & enjoy GERT MATHIESEN’s traveling art exhibit & Edward Walsh’s sculptures on display in the gallery, while enjoying live music.

9:00 - 10:15 pm: Mainstage Electric Rock Concert featuring North Salem HS.  The theater is a 99-seat auditorium complete with stage, lights & great sound that will provide the audience with a full concert experience in an intimate setting.  There isn’t a bad seat in the house.

10:15 - till 11:00 pm:  Meet n Greet After Party: Sponsored by K’s mini cookies of Bedford Hills & Lola Granola Bar, Croton Falls, offering coffee, soft drinks & desserts.  Featuring DJ music TBA.  There will be an awarding of the raffle prizes & recognition of sponsors & performers.

Thomas Roberto Aponte: is a Purchase-based singer/songwriter, primarily working with acoustic guitar in his solo work that has conveyed many eclectic influences. Joe Disto: Ossining NY resident Joe plays both acoustic & electronic sets. An obsession with synthesizers & drum machines will be evident when you see him perform live. When backed by a band, Disto's album comes to life & the rock n roll antics begin. Performance is a huge passion, as well as a constant compulsion toward writing & recording new, original sounds in the studio, named Distotone Recorders. Natalie Austin:  A Mahopac, HS student, Natalie is a captivating singer-songwriter with a unique style & musical intuition that is well beyond her 16 years. Her influences range from classic rock, to country, & jazz & blues.

 

Main stage Electric Rock Concert by:  GILBERT!  Members;Tara Curran - vocals, Justin Giacchetto - guitar, Eddie Fiscella - keys, Owen Hughes - drums, & Wilson Yarnall - bass.  You’d never guess that the members of Gilbert are all in high school (North Salem and John Jay). This powerhouse of talented musicians is quickly gaining recognition. Gilberts’ sound is rock with soul/funk influences.  The vocals of Tara Curran have been described as rich & inviting with the styling’s of Janis Joplin, Susan Tedeschi while distinctly her own.  Their live performances include soul/funk/rock covers interspersed with originals.
