Fire at Fishkill Gap Distribution Center

On Monday, August 29th at approximately 10:45pm, firefighters arrived to an active fire on the second level of the 990,000 square-foot commercial building of the Gap Northeast Distribution Center located in Fishkill, New York.

Fishkill Fire Chief Brandon Knapp stated that an aggressive attack was made by firefighters but they were driven out by rapidly deteriorating fire conditions within 7 minutes. Putnam, Dutchess and Orange County Fire Departments were called to assist in containing the fire. In addition, EMS units and NYS Police were onsite. One firefighter sustained an injury. He received a minor laceration on his leg.

All employees are accounted for and no injuries were reported by employees at this time.

An investigation by various agencies is in progress. NYS Police asks that anyone who may have any information should contact them at 845-677-7300.
