Grant Cuomo won the Eastern States wrestling tournament this weekend. Grant is the first wrestler in Brewster history to win at this prestigious tournament. The tournament included wrestlers from 101 teams from 4 different states.
Grant beat New Rochelle’s Jake Logan 5-0 in the championship match. Grant won a total of five matches in doing so, he was not taken down once and was not scored on in his final three matches. Lohud has an article with more details and a video of the championship match.
Grant is currently ranked 2nd in NY State. The state tournament will be held February 24-25.
