Congratulations to the three athletes who just qualified for the New York State Championships! These athletes just performed well at this past Friday’s Section 1 State Qualifier Championship at the NYC Armory: Senior Reggie Titre-Barnor qualified in the triple jump with 43’9.5’’; senior Amelia Cuomo qualified for her second state meet in the 1500 meter racewalk with 6:57.4; and last but not least, freshman Elsa Neubauer qualified for the intersectional relay, after running a personal best in the 1500 meter race with a 4:55.5. She will be running the 1600 meter anchor leg, with Tori Fears from Tappan Zee (1000), Annelyse Benn from Suffern (200), and Gabby Johnson from New Rochelle (600).
The state championship meet is this upcoming Saturday, March 4th at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, NY.
The Eastern States Meet is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 28th. From Brewster there will be a girls 4x800 meter relay team of Florence Cuomo, Amelia Cuomo, Marissa Crowley, and Elsa Neubauer. The Boys 4x800 meter relay team includes Luca Riolo, Dayshawn Siranaula, Scott Jacobsen, and Erik Jacobsen.
