Mu Alpha Theta Math-a-thon for St. Jude’s Research Hospital

Brewster High School’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society held their 8th annual Math-a-thon on Saturday, April 1st. The Math-a-thon is an event that invites 3rd graders to interact with the member of the honor society by engaging in different math activities throughout the day, all while raising money for St. Jude’s Research Hospital. Some of these activities include a scavenger hunt, constructing bridges from pipe cleaners, learning about and meeting the math superheroes by the names of Octagon and Fraction, and doing the fun math workbook.  The 3rd graders also learned more about St. Jude’s Research Hospital during their lunch and got to take a break from the math by playing a variety of games in the gym. This year, a total of around $2,500 was raised for St. Jude’s Research Hospital. It was a fun day filled with laughter and excitement all for a good cause.   The video highlights the activities from the day.
