Two Dozen Breastfeeding Moms Participated in the Worldwide Big Latch On Event

Nearly two dozen breastfeeding moms gathered at the Carmel Fire Department on Friday, August 4, for the 2017 “Big Latch On.” They were joined by friends and family members, and thousands of others around the world, to celebrate the annual event to promote breastfeeding worldwide.

The Putnam event, organized by the health department, was held for fourth straight year with local support from the Carmel Fire Department and other organizations. Last year more than 17, 000 children breastfeed worldwide during the one-minute count, the highlight of this annual tradition that began in New Zealand in 2005 and has spread to more than 28 countries around the globe.
