CAREERS Celebrates 30 Years of Job Placement and Support
Carmel, New York, October 20th, 2017 – CAREERS Support Solutions, Inc., (formerly CAREERS for People with Disabilities), celebrated 30 years of providing job placement services and the employment anniversaries of over 200 clients at their Annual Anniversary Celebration on October 19th.
PepsiCo EnAble was the premier sponsor of the event, which was held at PepsiCo’s World Headquarters in Purchase. Curry Automotive and Marianne and Patrick Brown wereonce again Major sponsors.
Contributing sponsors include Bilotta Kitchen and Home, CAREERS’ Board President Karen Brown of Cortlandt Manor, PURE Insurance, Unitex Textile Rental Services, The Kitson Law Firm and ShopRite Supermarkets. Awards of Appreciation were given to CAREERS corporate and foundation supporters, including Our Lady of the Lakes Knights of Columbus in Carmel, Wells Fargo, Entergy, Costco, Peoples United Community Foundation, TD Charitable Foundation, and United Way of Westchester and Putnam.

Applebee’s, Brewster was named Employer of the Year for their accommodating and enthusiastic support of CAREERS clients. Vincent Migliaccio was Employee of the Year for his outstanding work at Stop & Shop in Port Chester. Douglas Cuzzi of Brewster and Nicole Flynn of Carmel received Personal Achievement Awards for their outstanding efforts on the job. Karen and Gus Pourakis of George’s Place in Carmel received the Investing In Futures Award for their long-standing assistance in training and hiring CAREERS student interns.
CAREERS’ mission is to insure individuals with disabilities find sustained, meaningful employment in the communities in which they live. Since 1987, CAREERS has made over 2,600 job placements and provided support services to thousands of people with disabilities in Westchester and Putnam Counties.
