Babysitting Class at Kent Library, 7/30 

Come to the Kent Public Library, on Saturday, July 30th from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m for a Babysitiing Workshop! Parents entrust their child with the babysitter, therefore, it is crucial to know the basics of child care. In this introduction to babysitting course, students will learn interviewing tips, communication skills, ages and stages of young babies and toddlers, safety and first aid tips, and feeding and caring for children. A simple test will be administered at the completion of the course and certificates will be distributed. Amanda Tucker, the class instructor, holds a degree in Special Ed, Early Education and Child Psychology. Students should bring a notebook, pen and a lunch with them. For ages 10 and up. Registration required.


Yoga for 2 at Kent Library starting 8/1

 Yoga for Me and You : Yoga for 2, will be held at the Kent Library  starting  Monday, August 1st, from 1:00 pm-2:00pm.  This is a three week series for kids ages 4-7 and their adults! Whether you are Mom, Dad, a grandparent or a nanny - you are welcome to participate!  This is a great way to bond with each other and stay fit at the same time!  To prevent spills, the class will be done barefoot. Each "team" will need a mat. The class will be instructed by Robin Cohen.  Registration is required.


Candy Sushi at the Kent Library 8/1

Not a fish fan? No problem! Come to the Kent Public Library on Monday, August 1st from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m to create a bento box full of candy sushi.  Using candy, you'll create sushi masterpieces! All you need to do is bring your creativity. Registration is required, this program is for ages 10 & up! 


Origami Workshop at Kent Library  8/2 

Come to the Kent Public Library for an Origami Workshop on Tuesday, August 2nd, from 4:30 p.m to 6:00 p.m. Origami is the art of paper folding, come learn the art and make fun objects and animals.  This program is for ages 10 & up and registration is required. 


 Open Mic Night at Kent Library 8/2 

Help us start a monthly Open Mic Night at the Kent Public Library! Come show off your musical or literary talent on Tuesday, August 2nd from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  You are free to attend or participate!  Light refreshments will be served. Musicians and writers all are welcome.  Performers please contact the library to book a time slot and tell us about your performance. Registration is required for performers.


Dissecting Owl Pellets Workshop 8/3

Join teacher and author, Velya Jancz-Urban, on Wednesday,  August 3rd  from 3:30-4:30 pm as she shares her most popular hands-on science class for kids, a Dissecting Owl Pellets Workshop. Students will understand that within ecosystems, complex interactions exist between organisms and the physical environment. As their natural curiosity leads them to explore the natural world, each child will "take" something different from the experience,  from an understanding of the food chain and circle-of-life concept, to mammal anatomy. For children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Registration is required. SPACE is LIMITED! Register EACH person planning to attend
